Description

This chasen is meticulously handmade by traditional handcraft expert, Yasaburo Tanimura.

Type: Takayama chasen: Takayama in Northernmost Nara is known as a "bamboo village," and it's the birthplace of the chasen, the matcha tea whisk. Chasen production in Takayama started 500 years ago during the Muromachi era and this local craftsmanship, unique to the area, is handed down from generation to generation via the eldest child of the family(一子相伝).

- Be mindful that the tip of the chasen prongs may bend or break when rubbed vigorously against the teabowl.
